Association
Friends of Hoopern Valley (FoHV) was formed in 2024 as an unincorporated charity supporting University of Exeter’s management of Lower Hoopern Valley as a County Wildlife Site and biodiversity hub. We actively engage with students and other residents, hosting events and activities whilst promoting environmental awareness and stewardship.

Friends of Hoopern Valley was founded by six University of Exeter students and six local residents. We came together with the common goals of
Supporting this amazing local resource and the University of Exeter’s efforts to enhance this wildlife site.
Educating the local community about biodiversity, conservation and wildlife.
Providing fun and engaging activities for the local community (residents and students alike).
Building a bridge for positive engagement between local residents and students.
Helping students gain professional and personal skills.
Providing a venue for the community to meaningfully contribute to local environmental and community-building initiatives.
We are grateful to the University of Exeter for their support at every step of the process and very excited to see our local community and this wonderful resource grow and evolve.
